TX’s NFL Week 5 Daily Fantasy Plays – (Afternoon Only)

TX's FanDuel NFL Daily Fantasy Plays

TX’s NFL DFS Afternoon Slate Plays – Week 5

What’s up, 4 DEEP?! My article will cover the four afternoon games on FanDuel. Running back is a tough position this week, so I think that’s where we save some money. We have some options at tight end to help build our lineups. Also, we have a few players with a Q tag to keep an eye on. Let’s get into it!!

UPDATES:

Favorite Stacks:

  • Chiefs
  • Eagles
  • Vikings

Tournament Stacks:

  • Bengals
  • Cardinals
  • Broncos

TX’s Elite QBs:

  • Patrick Mahomes  I don’t need to write up much here really. It’s a match-up against the Vikings and we all know what Mahomes can do. If you can find a way to pay, he’s your starter.
  • Kirk Cousins – In what should be a shootout against the Chiefs, I like Cousins at home in the highest total game of the slate. I think he’s priced pretty reasonably for the floor/ceiling combo we can expect.
  • Jalen Hurts  I think at this price point, it’s either go up or down against the Rams at home. No doubt, he’s still a solid option, but I think we need the savings.

TX’s Mid Tier QB:

  • Matthew Stafford – He’s a solid play week in and week out and he gets Kupp back this week. I think he’s too cheap for the upside he has. The Eagles will be tough, but this game has a high total and should require the Rams to pass. The Eagles are 25th or worse in passing defense, yards, and touchdowns allowed.
  • Joe Burrow – If not this week, then when? I’m taking a wait and see approach, but he’s very much in play against the Cardinals this week.  The Cardinals allow 69% more fantasy points to QBs when they are home.
  • Zach Wilson – He looked good last week, but I’m not a believer yet. However, he’s in a good spot against the Broncos who are 32nd to QB #1s.

TX’s Door #3 QB:

  • Josh Dobbs – I like him a lot here actually, he’s priced fair, and in a match,-up where the Bengals are allowing 23% more fantasy points to QBs when they are on the road. He’s shown he can put some nice games together and I think this game at home is a good opportunity for him to pay off.

TX’s Elite RBs:

  • Joe Mixon – The Cards rank 32nd to RB1s. They are allowing 1.3 touchdowns and 119 yards a game. It’s the cheapest he’s been all season and the RB pool is tough this week.
  • D’Andre Swift – Not necessarily a match-up we want to target, but our options are limited and Swift has a decent ceiling. I just hate the Hurts tush push and the vulture potential it has.
  • Kyren Williams – The match-up is tough, but the usage is there.

TX’s Mid Tier RBs:

  • Breece Hall/Dalvin Cook – I prefer Breece just because of his homerun ability and he’s exciting to watch. He seems to be the #1 here. He’s going against the Broncos, who are 30th in touchdowns allowed and 26th in rushing yard allowed. Cook is cheaper, but just old and slow.
  • James Conner – Same story every week with Conner on these afternoon slates. He’s always in play and I think even more so against the Bengals at home.
  • Isiah Pacheco – He looked really good against the Jets and it came with a price increase this week. I think he’s a bit contrarian this week because the way I see the game script going. I see a passing shootout, but that doesn’t mean he can’t hit a homerun. He doesn’t need volume to pay off with his violent running style.

TX’s Door #3 RBs:

  • Jaleel McLaughlin – I’ve been glued to Williams in season long and it’s killed me because McLaughlin has been a stud. He had a price increase after his big game, but I think Williams is taking a seat to this kid.

TX’s Elite WRs:

  • Justin Jefferson – Highest priced and highest ceiling receiver on the slate in the highest total game. It’s always nerve racking watching him play because we know he has to have a big game to pay off his price tag, but he somehow finds a way. He’s actually the cheapest he has been all season and is at home, so I think we need to find a way to fit him in the lineup.
  • Ja’Marr Chase – He’s been under performing all season and was vocal after the last loss against the Titans. I mean, the match-up screams he should do well, as the Cardinals allow 64% more fantasy to WR when they are home. If you play Burrow, then you have to pair him with Chase.
  • AJ Brown/DeVonta Smith – Brown for the safety and Smith for the tournament play.

TX’s Mid Tier WRs:

  • Puka Nacua/Cooper Kupp – Taking the wait and see approach with Kupp, so I think Puka is still in play.
  • Garrett Wilson – Zach Wilson has looked better, but at $7,400, which is an increase in price, I think we can go elsewhere, but he does have that big play upside. The Broncos rank 31st to WR #1s, so it’s all on Wilson to get him the ball.
  • Courtland Sutton – Touchdowns in back-to-back games and has proved serviceable to fill in lineups.
  • Marquise Brown – The targets have been there and this a game script where he should get the same, if not more, chances.

TX’s Door #3 WRs:

  • Michael Wilson – Called him last week and going right back to him this week.
  • Jordan Addison/Allen Lazard – Nice pivots and savings from the #1s.

TX’s Elite TEs:

  • Travis Kelce – The sites are jacking with us and his price this week. We still haven’t seen that massive ceiling game from Kelce yet. I think he’s my #1, especially if I play Mahomes.
  • TJ Hockenson –  I think the game script favors him and he’s cheaper than Kelce and a good run back if you stack the Chiefs.

TX’s Mid Tier TEs:

  • Tyler Higbee – I think a big game is coming against the Eagles this week.
  • Dallas Goedert – He hasn’t had his big game yet and we are getting great value on him this week.
  • Zach Ertz – The targets are there, just can’t get in the box.

TX’s Door #3 TEs:

  • Tyler Conklin – Denver ranks 31st to tight ends.

Defenses:

  • Broncos – At home against Wilson.
  • Chiefs – Cousins can turn the ball over and takes a ton of sacks.
  • Cardinals – At home against a Bengals team that is underperforming.
