Scarface’s 2023 NFL Week 5 Daily Fantasy Plays

Scarface's DraftKings NFL Daily Fantasy Plays

Scarface’s 2023 NFL Week 5 Intro:

Welcome, 4Deeps, to my weekly NFL GPP article. Time to pick up right where we left off last year, coming off my best NFL season and helping you guys win also. I want to welcome the new subs and let you know that it won’t be pretty every week, but the weeks that are, we will go straight to the top.

In this article, I will list my favorite plays at each position with a mini breakdown, followed by some game stack ideas we can use in GPPs, and my Core 4 building blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel. In keeping with the Scarface theme, I will conclude with my “Say Hello to My Little Friend” (Slate Edge Play), “Every Dog Has His Day” (Favorite Value Play), and “Say Goodnight to the Bad Guy” (Chalk Fade).

Also don’t forget to check out the Mayhem Minute section on Game Day for a more narrowed breakdown of my favorite plays at each position.

UPDATES: PLEASE CHECK BACK SUNDAY MORNING FOR UPDATES.

I will be available in Discord (@Scarface521) Sunday Mornings for any questions you have about your lineups. ??

QB:

  • Jalen Hurts – It’s very easy to pay up for QB this week and it’s hard not to like Hurts as the spend up QB in this game environment.
  • Tua Tagovailoa – Whether or not the Giants make a game of this is irrelevant. Even in the blowout win against Denver, Tua still put up 31 FP and we could see the same here.
  • Matthew Stafford – Getting Kupp back makes it tricky to figure out who the targets are going to, but Stafford is the biggest beneficiary of his return, and yes, you can definitely roll him out there naked.
  • Ryan Tannehill – Do you want Jefferson, Tyreek, Bijan in your lineups? I think Tannehill is the answer to make it all work. He is the cheapest-priced starting QB on this slate and I think he has upside at his price in a game that could shootout.

RB:

  • Bijan Robinson – Best RB on the slate and massive upside in this game.
  • David Montgomery – Super chalky and an easy fit on DK. A nice contrarian play on FD.
  • D’Andre Swift – He is sandwiched in between a bunch of chalk on both sites and is going overlooked in one of the highest totals on the slate.
  • Raheem Mostert – Achane is getting all the love this week and I have no problem with him, but if you want to get different in tournaments, Mostert is getting a fraction of his ownership.
  • Breece Hall – I don’t care what his ownership is, how could you not love him this week at this price?
  • Gus Edwards – He is the lead back and well priced against one of the worst run defenses in the league.

WR:

  • Tyreek Hill/Justin Jefferson – One or the other should be a core build in your lineups and it’s not hard to fit both, either.
  • Ja’Marr Chase – The easiest way to get exposure to Burrow without having to play him is to just play Chase. Becomes a borderline lock play if Higgins misses.
  • DeVonta Smith – Cheaper than AJ Brown with just as much upside as him, and a nice pairing with Hurts in tournaments.
  • Puka Nacua – His role isn’t gonna just go away now that Kupp is in the mix, especially in his first game back where he may be limited. He is the only Rams receiver I trust to get targets in one of the highest totals on the slate.
  • Jaylen Waddle – He busted last week, but so did Tyreek. Right back to him this week at a cheaper price and less ownership.
  • Michael Pittman – Tennessee is always a secondary to pick on and Pittman will come in under owned for this matchup.
  • DeAndre Hopkins – Chalk I’m eating.
  • Zay Flowers – He is the clear WR1 in Baltimore and he makes a lot of lineups work at his price and matchup.
  • Wan’Dale Robinson/Kalif Raymond – There is no need to be creative if you are looking for value on this slate. One of these guys is your answer. Raymond becomes a core build if Reynolds was to miss also.

TE:

  • Sam LaPorta – Pretty easy option and core build with St. Brown missing.
  • Zach Ertz – Another chalky option, but I’d rather not gamble at TE on this slate.
  • Chig Okonkwu – But If I were to gamble, I’ll give Chig one last shot with Burks out and a good matchup.

DEF:

Defense is always a crapshoot. My strategy most weeks is to build out my lineups first and see which defenses I land on. These are some that I will be using:

  • Detroit
  • Miami
  • Jets
  • Tennessee

Game Stack Ideas For GPPs:

  • Titans vs. Colts – Tannehill / Hopkins / Chig, run it back with Pittman
  • Dolphins vs. Giants – Tua / Achane / Tyreek or Waddle, run it back with Wan’Dale
  • Rams vs. Eagles – Stafford / Puka, run it back with Swift or DeVonta Smith

Core 4 on FanDuel:

  • Bijan/ Breece Hall/ Deandre Hopkins/ La Porta

Core 4 on DraftKings:

  • Montgomery/ Hopkins/Kalif Raymond/ Tyreek Hill

Say Hello To My Little Friend: Breece Hall

Every Dog Has His Day: Kalif Raymond

Say Goodnight To The Bad Guy: Patrick Mahomes/Travis Kelce
