Healy’s 8/8/23 MLB Breakdown

Intro:
Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 7:05pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.

Cheatsheet:
I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 8/8/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

Pitching Pool:

Framber Valdez – HOU @ BAL
Tanner Bibee – CLE vs. TOR
Kutter Crawford – BOS vs. KC
Touki Toussaint – CWS vs. NYY

Stacks:

Brewers: Strong mix of power and value throughout this Beers’ lineup. After hitting the nuts for us last night (?congrats 13_Spades?) we go right back. Top plays are Canha and Santana, followed by Contreras and Adames. Joey Wiemer at the bottom serves as a strong value.
Doyers: Late night hammer with the Dodgers facing Pfaadt, an average arm with limited strikeout ability allowing endless fly balls and hard hits. 1-9 is firmly in play with JD Martinez, Freeman, and Muncy being my favorites.
Angels: LHP Alexander is set to open, followed by LHP Alex Wood, which sets up well for this RH-heavy offense full of power. 1-7 profile best but I’m okay using Wallach/Adams at the bottom for the min if it gets you stud SP and/or Ohtani.
Red Sox: Despite Brady Singer’s recent run, this low-strikeout and LH-heavy lineup will pose him major problems. 1-7 are all firmly in play with Devers, Yoshi, and Casas being my favorites. Duran, Story, Turner, and Verdugo secondary.
Red Sox: Finally putting things together post-ASB, the M’s will face Martinez for a short period, then the Padres’ bullpen. Several ways to build with 2-4 being the top plays while Teo, Marlowe, and Canzone at the bottom are extremely intriguing if you need to fill your OF spots.
