Intro:
Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 7:05pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.

I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 8/22/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

Pitching Pool:

Lucas Giolito – LAA vs. CIN – DK: $9.1k / FD: $9.1k
Bobby Miller – LAD @ CLE – DK: $8.6k / FD: $9k
Wade Miley – MIL vs. MIN – DK: $6.3k / FD: $7.9k
Grayson Rodriguez – BAL vs. TOR – DK: $6.1k / FD: $8.2k

Stacks:

Mets: They will get extremely left handed tonight vs. Elder, who since the All-Star break, has a K rate vs. LHH of sub 3% (not a typo). 1-8 are all in a great spot, but my priorities are the high power/high K bats in Dan Vogeldong and DJ “the Hammer” Stewart.
Angels: Great pitch data matchup tonight for the Halos vs. Ashcraft. His Cutter, which he throws nearly 50% of the time, needs to pray balls fall on the warning track and not in the bleachers. 1-7 are all fantastic plays, with Ohtani, Drury, and O’Hoppe leading the way.
Braves: Flop lag after slight letdown last night. LHH once again my priority, with Olson, Harris, and Ed Ro. Secondary plays are Acuna and Sean Murphy.
Nats: Sneaky spot here vs. Rodon, making his first start off the IL. He has struggled all season and will continue to do so here vs. the low-strikeout Nats. Adams, Thomas, Call, and Garrett are my favorites.
