Dmar’s CFB Daily Fantasy Intro:
What’s up, 4Deep?! Week 4 is here. Enjoy another great day of football and let’s take something down! Like always, I will be in Discord to help assist you with your teams. Good luck, everyone!
UPDATE: Adding some Dillon Gabriel exposure today, Jalil Farooq and Andrel Anthony being my favorite pairings. *Preston Stone is very much and play and gets his talented TE back this week in RJ Maryland. Maryland also gives us some much needed value. *Speaking of value Colorado should bring back Alton Mccaskill today at Rb, its unclear how much work he gets but he is the most talented back on this team so he may be asked to do more in this big game to give this rushing game a spark. *Adding some Tez Johnson to my Bo Nix teams as he works primarily in the slot which has gave Colorado fits to start the year. *Rumors that Antonio Williams for Clemson is dealing with an ankle injury so that does downgrade him for me. If he is ruled out Tyler Brown becomes an interesting play.
Quarterbacks:
- Bo Nix – Colorado finally gets their first real test and it comes against Bo and the Oregon Ducks in Eugene. The holes have been there against this Colorado defense, but no offense has really been able to fully take advantage, but I think that all changes this week. Bo and this offense will do what they want, and while this price is high, the only thing that scares me is blowout risk and the talented running backs Oregon has scoring the TDs. Bo gives you the safest floor with big time upside if this game stays competitive. If you’re a believer in this Colorado team, a game stack is for sure in play, with running it back with Shedeur Sanders, and it will come in low owned due to the pricing and other QB options on the slate.
- Jalen Milroe – I will be the first to admit Milroe is not a good QB, but we are dealing with a Justin Fields type situation where as DFS players we just want points regardless of how they come. Milroe is the man for the Crimson Tide, barring something catastrophic, and I fully think they utilize his legs more and more in these bigger games. This is the cheapest he has been all year and the matchup sets up for a game where even if we get his B game, he can be the highest scorer on the slate. As much as it pains me to write up an opposing QB against my Tide, Jaxson Dart is in a great spot in what could be the most fantasy-friendly game on the slate. Dart has looked incredible to start the year with production on the ground and air. There is no doubt Lane will have some plays he has held back to deploy against Alabama, and much like the Texas game, Lane and Sark are two of the brightest offense minds in the game.
- Chandler Morris – We have yet to see a complete game from Morris and this TCU offense, and yet, Morris has had productive fantasy outings. In a game with the highest total on the day, Morris may actually go overlooked and a 300-yard passing and 100-yard rushing game is fully in play.
- Emory Jones – The journeyman Jones is another QB who just is simply not a good QB, but like I have already mentioned, we just need numbers, and with the way he has been running added to the fact that Oklahoma’s offense has been humming to start the year, he will have plenty of opportunities to pay off that price tag.
- Tommy Castellanos – Tommy really showed off what he can do last week against a good FSU team. This week he gets a Louisville team who has yet to face a good offensive team, and with his rushing ability, he can really take advantage of some of L’ville’s weaknesses. For his skill set and price, he is at the top of the board for me this week.
- GPP Mentions: Dillion Gabriel, Jordan Travis, Taulia Tagovailoa, Cade Klubnik, Tyler Shough, Kyron Drones – if he starts
Running Backs:
- Bucky Irving – Like I mentioned earlier, this Oregon offense is in an elite spot this weekend and Bucky is a RB most haven’t heard of. He has a great skill set in both the rushing and receiving game, and in Oregon’s only close game this season, he caught seven balls. The floor is lower than we would like at this price due to Bo’s rushing ability and the other talented Oregon backs, but he has tremendous upside this week.
- Blake Corum – Possibly the safest floor on the slate, with Harbough back this week and a home matchup Blake is almost a lock for a TD and 100 yards. He is not anyone I’m prioritizing, but if you have the salary left, you should feel very good rostering him.
- Emani Bailey – Bailey finally found the endzone last week, resulting in his best game of the season. The volume and production has been there all season, but much like Morris, the complete game has yet to fully come. This is a game where he could get 100-plus and a couple scores.
- Devin Neal – We get a great price for a back like Neal in a game where Kansas should be able to get him going. For someone who hasn’t had a bad game yet, this is the cheapest he has been all season and this home matchup sets up perfectly for him.
- Rasheen Ali – We don’t get Mr. Ali at the criminally low price tag like last time, but even at $6k, he is in another great spot as home favorites. He is still a true workhorse back and gives us a safe floor with room for more.
- LJ Martin – Martin was a wait and see type player as we really had no idea how this backfield would look. But in a big game matchup against Arkansas, he provided 23 carries and two scores. This is a similar type of game as BYU will want to keep that Kansas offense off the field and using Martin will be key to that.
- Will Shipley – I don’t love this spot, but this price tag is just too cheap for someone who is the focal point of the offense. If Clemson has any shot of winning, it will come through Shipley. The volume will be elite, it’s just a matter of how effective he can be against this defense.
- Camar Wheaton – This SMU backfield has been a mess this season with suspensions and we will need to monitor who is in, but if Knighton were to miss again, Wheaton is in a great spot for this price tag and is a talented back. I think regardless of who plays, Wheaton is their best pure back and could be leaned on to keep the TCU offense off the field.
- GPP Mentions: Quinshon Judkins, Roman Hemby, Trey Benson, Nate Carter
Wide Receivers:
- Xavier Weaver – I will admit I was caught up in the Travis Hunter hype train and somewhat overlooked Weaver and Jimmy Horn JR. but both of these guys have been studs to start the season and now with no Hunter, their already insane volume should be solidified. In a game where they should be trailing most of the game, both should get plenty of looks, and even at these prices, both are in play with a slight lean to Weaver if picking just one. Speaking of losing Hunter, Tar’Varish Dawson and TE Michael Harrison should benefit more and provide some salary relief.
- Troy Franklin – Maybe the best big play WR in the country. He won’t wow you in volume, but he is the type of player where all it takes is one or two passes for him to get his. The really only consistent WR to target in this Ducks offense is the type of play that could kill you if you fade, so if playing Bo, he would be my pairing, even at the high salary between the two.
- Jamari Thrash – Thrash quickly ruined lineups without him last Saturday and is in a spot to do it again this week. He is still underpriced for his role and after L’ville got up early, the offense let off the gas some to lead to him not scoring more. If it weren’t for a bad ball, he would have had two long TDs on the day.
- Johnny Wilson – This screams a game where one of Wilson or Keon Coleman has a monster day, as just no defense can commit to stopping both of them. I think this game plays close and we see a ceiling-type game from one of them. Good luck deciding between the two as it could be a Nabers/Brian Thomas type situation from last week.
- Antonio Williams – Hopefully Clemson learned from the Duke game they have to get Williams going if they want to win ball games. He is clearly their most talented WR and should scheme him ways to get open. I think he has the potential to have a Luther Burden type performance from last week and makes for a great runback with one of the FSU WRs.
- Evan Stewart – You all know by now I’m a big fan of Stewart and think he is one of the best WR in the country, so even in a game that isn’t the most fantasy-friendly, he should receive plenty of targets and continue to put up big numbers. Price is still too cheap for his talent.
- Roman Wilson – Similar to Franklin, the volume for Roman won’t wow you, but the production continues to be there. He is their number one WR and can get it done in just a few plays. Good price for him and if he continues this streak of TDs, you will want to have him.
- Colbie Young – Priced next to Wilson, Young has been great this year with VanDyke, and even with Miami spreading the ball around, Young is a total mismatch on the field and could pop any week. He had a rough game last week with drops and fumbles and still managed to get almost 10 fantasy points, so the floor is there with great upside at the price.
- Isaiah Bond – The ‘Bama WR room, while not elite, is a deep group with multiple options that could pop any week. Jermaine Burton is probably the most consistent of the group, but it’s hard to pay that price with other options around him. Which leads me to Bond, who I think at this moment is the most talented of the group. Milroe can throw a good deep ball and Bond has the speed to take the top off any defense. So if pairing a WR, Bond is my preferred target and has potential to have a big game. Amari Niblack continues to run a lot of routes and has the skill set of a WR. If you want to go cheap with Milroe, I don’t mind that at all, just don’t think he has quite the upside as the other WRs.
- GPP Mentions: Tre Harris/Zakhari Franklin – Check health on both, Jalil Farooq, Xavier Henderson, Kaden Prather, Tre Mosley, Corey Dyches, Jaheim Bell, Jordan Kerley, David Martin-Robinson, Jordan Brown
