TX’s MLB Daily Fantasy Plays – 9/22/23

TX's MLB DFS Breakdown

TX’s Daily Fantasy Intro:

What’s up, 4DEEP?! We have 11 games on the FanDuel and DraftKings Main Slates today. Let’s get into it!

Elite Pitching:

  • Pablo Lopez – (MIN vs. LAA) – FD: $11k / DK: $10.7k – It’s hard not to like Lopez here against the Angels. The price tag is steep on him at $11k, but the Angels have struck out on average 13 times over their last three games. Lopez is also a home favorite with the wind blowing in at a pitcher’s park. The Angels have a 26% K-rate to righties. Lopez also has favorable statcast data, he’s in the top 90% in both exit velocity and distance over the last 30 days.
  • Charlie Morton – (ATL @ WSH) – FD: $10.3k / DK: $9.9k – Heavy favorite facing the Nationals today. Morton has historically pitched well against them. In his last four games against them, he’s scored 40+ fantasy points. The Nationals have a .180 batting average against Morton in 40 at bats.

Mid-Tier Pitching:

  • Dane Dunning – (TEX vs. SEA) – FD: $8.4k / DK: $7.9k – Facing the Mariners at home, who he has pitched well against. The Mariners have a 25% K-rate against righties. Dunning has averaged 35 FPPG over his last two games.
  • Sawyer Gipson-Long – (DET @ OAK) – FD: $8.3k / DK: $7.7k – He had a nice price increase after his first two starts. He has a good match-up in a pitcher’s park against the A’s today.  The A’s have a 25% K-rate and a .302 wOBA to righties.

Door #3 Pitcher:

  • Matt Waldron – (SD vs. STL) – FD: $6.4k / DK: $7.3k – Padres are a heavy home favorite today taking on the Cardinals. He’s cheap and we have some upside in his price.
