TX’s NFL Week 3 Daily Fantasy Plays – (Afternoon Only)

TX's FanDuel NFL Daily Fantasy Plays

TX’s NFL DFS Afternoon Slate Plays – Week 3

What’s up, 4 DEEP?! My article will cover the afternoon games on FanDuel. It’s a three-game slate, so I try to give my thoughts on more players than usual to give us some options. So, if you see both running backs or receivers listed on a team, it’s just to get some info on them to open your player pool. Let’s get into it!!

UPDATES:

TX’s Favorite Stacks:

  • Chiefs
  • Cowboys
  • Seahawks

TX’s Elite QBs:

  • Patrick Mahomes – I don’t really need to write up much on him, he’s the best QB on the slate and has the highest ceiling. He’s at home against a Bears defense that ranks 26th in passing touchdowns allowed and 27th in yards allowed.

TX’s Mid Tier QB:

  • Dak Prescott – Favorable match-up against the Cardinals, who rank 27th allowing 1.7 passing touchdowns a game. The Cardinals also allow 19% more passing attempts when they are home and 67% more fantasy points to QBs when they are home.
  • Geno Smith – I don’t have any issues with playing Smith this week in the afternoon slate. He’s going to come in lower owned and is at home against the Panthers. In the ’22 season, he threw for three touchdowns against them and finished with 23 fantasy points. I think his ceiling is lower than Prescott’s, so I ranked him below him.

TX’s Door #3 QB:

  • Justin Fields – The Bears are going to be playing from behind and Fields will be able to get a bunch of garbage time points.

TX’s Elite RBs:

  • Tony Pollard – Holy cow, is the price tag on Pollard steep this week. Pollard scores 54% more fantasy points in domes and the Cardinals rank 26th in touchdowns allowed to RBs. The Cowboys rush 29% more when favored.
  • Kenneth Walker – I like the price break we get on Walker from Pollard. He can hit the home run just like Pollard and is significantly cheaper. The Panthers allow 34% more fantasy points when they are on the road.

TX’s Mid Tier RBs:

  • Miles Sanders Seattle is the worst ranked run defense over the last nine games, ranking 31st in touchdowns allowed and rushing yards allowed. The Panthers rush 52% more when they are underdogs, and the Seahawks allow 25% more fantasy points to RB when they are favored. I wish he were slightly cheaper, but I like the idea Dalton may check down to him a lot.

TX’s Door #3 RBs:

  • Isiah Pacheco – Man, does he run hard or what? It just hasn’t translated to many fantasy points yet. I like him in this game where the Chiefs should get out ahead early and then just need to control the clock and the ball. I think he’s at a nice price point too, and can find the end zone more than once and smash his value.

TX’s Elite WRs:

  • CeeDee Lamb – I was wrong on him last week in my Mayhem Minute, he went off. This week I think he’s a good play against a Cardinals’ defense who allows 68% more fantasy points to WRs when they are home.
  • Tyler Lockett / DK Metcalf – Lockett got more targets last week, but I think we can play either one of them or both of them in the same lineup. They both seem to be banged up, so we need to watch the injury report.

TX’s Mid Tier WRs:

  • DJ Moore He should see plenty of opportunities in a game they will most likely be trailing in.
  • Adam Thielen – Saw nine targets last week and got in the end zone. He finished in the perfect lineup. I think he’s cheap enough that we need to consider him to make some lineups work.
  • Marquise Brown Home run threat in a similar situation as Moore. The Cardinals should be trailing and this would give Brown some more opportunities.
  • Skyy Moore / Kadarius Toney Moore finally looked like he had something click last week. Toney is the shifty tournament play.

TX’s Door #3 WRs:

  • Chase Claypool – The dude is a tremendous athlete and has huge upside, he just has to want it. The Bears will be playing from behind and this is a cheap way to get some exposure to the game.
  • Jonathan Mingo Saw eight targets last week, and at his price tag, I think we can take a shot on him to find some value.

TX’s Elite TEs:

  • Travis Kelce – Slight price drop on him, but the question is, “How healthy is he?” I don’t think you have to force him into lineups, but he would be my ideal pairing with Mahomes.

TX’s Mid Tier TEs:

  • Zach Ertz Cheap price and gets the targets in this offense.
  • Hayden Hurst – Tough match-up, but should see some targets from Dalton.\
  • Jake Ferguson I don’t mind him here to stack with Dak to save some money instead of CeeDee.

TX’s Door #3 TEs:

  • Noah Gray Mahomes finds anyone and everyone when he needs to.

Defenses:

  • Cowboys – They look amazing and are possibly the best D in the league right now.
  • Seahawks – At home vs. Dalton and a weak Panther offense.
  • Chiefs – At home vs. Fields, who has been underwhelming.
