Scarface’s 2023 NFL Week 2 Intro:
Welcome, 4Deeps, to my weekly NFL GPP article. Time to pick up right where we left off last year, coming off my best NFL season and helping you guys win also. I want to welcome the new subs and let you know that it won’t be pretty every week, but the weeks that are, we will go straight to the top.
In this article, I will list my favorite plays at each position with a mini breakdown, followed by some game stack ideas we can use in GPPs, and my Core 4 building blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel. In keeping with the Scarface theme, I will conclude with my “Say Hello to My Little Friend” (Slate Edge Play), “Every Dog Has His Day” (Favorite Value Play), and “Say Goodnight to the Bad Guy” (Chalk Fade).
Also don’t forget to check out the Mayhem Minute section on Game Day for a more narrowed breakdown of my favorite plays at each position.
Thoughts on the Slate:
After seeing many of these studs bust last week, I like to go right back to them this week. It looks like there will be a lot of RB and TE value on this slate, so it is not going to be difficult to jam in these stud QB and WR. Where my player pool was slightly bigger than normal last week, this week it will be slimmed down a little.
I will be available in Discord Sunday Mornings for any questions you have about your lineups. ??
UPDATES: PLEASE CHECK BACK SUNDAY MORNING FOR UPDATES.
QB:
- Josh Allen – Allen is my guy most weeks. Coming off that nasty loss, he will bounce right back in his home opener against the Raiders.
- Justin Fields – This is the time you want to play Fields, when everyone is off him. I don’t think you need to pair him with any receiver either.
- Trevor Lawrence – I will be targeting Lawrence most weeks and this week is no different. One of the easiest QBs to run with a double stack.
- Lamar Jackson (FD only) – I have to point out that this is the cheapest I’ve seen Lamar on FD ever. He doesn’t look to be rushing as much as in the past, but this price can’t be ignored.
- Jared Goff – Goff at home is a thing. I don’t think this game shoots out like it did last year, but his price is nice and Seattle’s pass defense is one we will attack all year.
- Brock Purdy (DK only) – For his price I think he has the safest floor, and on his ceiling weeks, I think he wins you some tournaments.
RB:
- Saquon Barkley – The easiest spend up at RB this week. After that embarrassing loss, he should be the focal point on Sunday.
- Josh Jacobs – My guess is, this is the cheapest we will see Jacobs all year and Buffalo gave up the second-most rush yards last week.
- Tony Pollard – Underpriced still for his role in this offense.
- Joe Mixon – Mixon at home is when you want to play him. We debated his ownership on the Round Table last night, I think he comes in under what the industry is projecting.
- Dameon Pierce – I think Houston controls this game and Pierce sees close to 20 touches as a result.
- Rachaad White – His snap share will keep him in play this year and he’s cheap enough to pay off his price tag easily.
- Josh Kelley – Chalky yes, but chalk that can murder your lineups if you don’t have him (especially on DK). If I’m building 10 lineups, he would be in six of them.
WR:
- Ja’Marr Chase – Got nine targets last week and busted. I promise you that will never happen again.
- Stefon Diggs – Diggs is unstoppable.
- Amon-Ra St. Brown – His upside compared to the other stud WR this week worries me a little, but I will have a share of him.
- Davante Adams – His price on FD is a joke. Throw in the fact they don’t have Meyers this week and his targets could be limitless.
- Mike Williams – Tennessee gets killed by the big plays and that’s where Williams does his damage.
- Deebo Samuel – This is Deebo week. He Has a history of torching the Rams and I don’t care what his ownership is, I’m playing him.
- Gabe Davis – Allen was targeting him on a few big plays that just missed on Monday night. I don’t mind double stacking him in tournaments with Allen and Diggs.
- Christian Kirk – Kirk is not going to just go away in this offense, he is going to have his days, and this is one of them. He is very cheap on both sites.
- Jahan Dotson – He’s in the same spot that Meyers was in last week and we saw the stat line that he put up (nine catches for 81 yards and two TD).
- Skyy Moore – Massive bust last week, but with Kelce back, I think he gets open for some big plays and could be a nice value piece in tournaments at only $4100 on DK.
- Van Jefferson – Sub 1% Milly Maker special. Don’t go playing him in your main lineups, but the Rams should be trailing in this game and he has big play upside. Also, where Puka and TuTu got priced up this week, his price stayed the same.
TE:
- Evan Engram – The most I will spend at TE this week and I will include him in my T-Law stacks.
- Tyler Higbee – Chalk bust last week, but he is essentially in the same spot this week with much less ownership.
- Chig Okonkwo – Hopkins is out and I like Chig to see an increase in targets, along with his big play capability. For his price, it’s time to get Chiggy wit’ it!
- Dawson Knox/Dalton Kincaid – One of these guys will get in the end zone and is a nice pairing with Josh Allen builds.
DEF:
Defense is always a crapshoot. My strategy most weeks is to build out my lineups first and see which defenses I land on. These are some that I will be using:
- Dallas
- Detroit
- Giants
- Chicago
- Houston
Game Stack Ideas:
- Bills vs. Raiders – Allen / Diggs / Gabe Davis or one of his TEs, run it back with Davante Adams or Jacobs
- Jaguars vs. Chiefs – Trevor Lawrence / Kirk / Engram, run it back with Skyy Moore
- Milly Maker Stack: Chicago @ Tampa Bay – Fields / Moore / Kmet, run it back with Rachaad White or Godwin
Core 4 on FanDuel:
- Josh Allen / Stefon Diggs / Deebo Samuel / Davante Adams
Core 4 on DraftKings:
- Josh Allen / Stefon Diggs / Josh Kelley / Deebo Samuel
