PGA Tour Championship:
We’ve arrived to the final event of the 2023 season. Only 30 golfers this week and they have a tiered starting system where guys start under par. Placement points matter for the cheap guys. We typically haven’t seen a giant shift from the guys starting with the bigger leads dropping down the leaderboard. All prices listed are for DraftKings.
Notes:
- Scheffler and Rory are the two favorites (and most expensive). Both have played great here in the past and they battled it out last year. I lean Rory for the savings.
- I would pick Hovland over Rahm, but my favorite is actually Xander, since he has elite course history.
- I’m not hopping off the Lucas Glover train, he is playing too well.
- Rickie Fowler is the only other $9k play I’d consider I think. I don’t trust Wyndham Clark.
- Russell Henley is my favorite $8k play, followed by Sungjae. They’re by far the best prices I think of anyone.
- Corey Conners at $7900 should go slightly overlooked because of Tom Kim and Morikawa right by him. I don’t mind Tony Finau or Si Woo Kim, either.
- My favorite cheapies in order are Spieth, Schenk, Hatton, Grillo, then Straka. I’m out on Burns, Taylor, and Moore, who all have looked pretty bad the last couple weeks.
