Healy’s MLB Daily Fantasy Plays – 9/19/23

Healy's MLB DFS Breakdown

Healy’s MLB Daily Fantasy Intro:

Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 7:05pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.

Cheatsheet:

I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 9/19/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

$ Tier SP C 1B 2B 3B SS OF
Top Tier Blake Snell Adley Rutschman Fred Freeman Mookie Betts Max Muncy Corey Seager Soto/Garcia/JD Mart
Mid Tier Zac Gallen Mitch Garver Nate Lowe Gleyber Torres Josh Jung Manny Machado(e) Mullins/Outman
Value Tier Clarke Schmidt Kyle Higashioka Ryan O’Hearn Matt Batten Carter Kieboom Ceddanne Rafaela Taveras/Profar/Hicks

Pitching Pool:

  • Blake Snell – SD vs. COL – DK: $10.6k / FD: $11.3k
  • Zac Gallen – ARI vs. SF – DK: $9.8k / FD: $10.6k
  • Clarke Schmidt – NYY vs. TOR – DK: $7.3k / FD: $7.5k
  • Drew Rom – STL vs. MIL – DK: $5.3k / FD: $6.4k

Stacks:

  1. Doyers: Solid matchup vs. the Tigers’ BP, who is nearly all right-handed, which lessens the PH risk on the second half of the lineup. 1-5 is preferred, but you’re paying a big price for them. Outman, Peralta, then Rojas is how I’m ranking the second half.
  2. O’s: Tonight the O’s face off with Hunter Brown, who has struggled the back half of the season (aside from two random solid starts vs the A’s and Tigers). The O’s set up very well vs. him tonight. 1-8 is who I’m focused on with Mullins, Hicks, and Adley being preferred and O’Hearn and Gunnar secondary.
  3. Rangers: Houck went out and mowed the Yanks down in his last outing, but we know that was fluky given the Yanks’ lack of LHH and talented hitters in general. The Rangers will roll out five lefties and four RHH that profile extremely well vs. his sinker/slider pitch mix. Seager and Lowe are the top plays while Garver and Taveras are next in priority for me. 1-9 all in play
  4. Padres: Similar to the Doyers, the top five are the clear preferred options vs. Feltner, who has been LIT up his lasts few outings. Campusano and Batten are preferred value options after paying up for Soto and Manny.

Today’s Edge:

  • Home Run Predictions:
    • Adley Rutschman
    • Nate Lowe
  • Highest Scoring Hitter: Fred Freeman
  • Highest Scoring Pitcher: Blake Snell
  • Top Value Play: Jurickson Profar
  • Player to Fade: Gabriel Arias
  • Slate Edge: Cedric Mullins!
