Healy’s Hints – 2023 NFL Week 5 Intro:

Excited to bring my NFL GPP content back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our previous success. This article will be covering the main slate for NFL Week 5 beginning Sunday at 1:00pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections: A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier based on DK positions/pricing), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate (will update ~2 hours prior to lock), top touchdown picks, and the player I will have the most exposure to on the slate across all my lineups.

Players to consider for your week 5 NFL GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

Stacks:

A common roster construction I like to use in large-field tournaments is stacking a quarterback with one or two of his skill position (RB, WR, TE) teammates and playing one or two guys from the opposition. I plan to attack Week 5 no differently. 

• My top overall stack is the Titans @ Colts. Often overlooked, the Colts are playing at the league’s fastest rate, driving the tempo of each of their four games thus far. This is fantastic news for the Titans’ fantasy outlook since Tennessee often plays at a bottom five pace. This game is similar to how we think about these massive pace differences in the NBA, all of which benefit the team forced to play quicker. My top stack of the week is using Ryan Tannehill ($4.9k) at QB with Hopkins and/or Okonkwo, with a secondary pairing option being Chris Moore. The OL desperately returns two starters this week, which should allow more time for Tannehill to earn a top 10 QB score this week. In terms of run backs, my primary target would be Mike Pittman, then Josh Downs, but given the rushing of Richardson, Taylor, and Moss, this isn’t a game I’ll force the correlated run back.

  • Vikings – Cousins: Jefferson / Hock / Mattison / Addison
  • Cardinals – Dobbs: Brown / Wilson / Ertz
  • Bengals – Burrow: Chase / Smith / Boyd (I’m avoiding Tee Higgins even if he ‘goes’)
