Healy’s Daily MLB DraftKings Plays – 9/12/23

Healy's MLB DFS Breakdown

Healy’s MLB Daily Fantasy Intro:

Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 7:07pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.

Cheatsheet:

I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 9/12/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

$ Tier SP C 1B 2B 3B SS OF
Top Tier Joe Ryan Yainer Diaz Cody Bellinger Nico Hoerner  Alex Bregman Dansby Swanson Tucker/Carroll
Mid Tier Zack Littell Miguel Amaya Christian Walker Brandon Lowe Man Machado(e) X. Bogaerts Tauchman/Gurriel/Pham
Value Tier Sean Manaea Luis Campusano Ryan Noda Matt Batten Jordan Diaz Jordan Lawlar Crow-Armstrong/Grisham/Dubon

Pitching Pool:

  • Fred Peralta – MIL vs. MIA – DK: $11.8k / FD: $10.5k
  • Joe Ryan – MIN vs. TB – DK: $9.5k / FD: $9.9k
  • Edward Cabrera – MIA @ MIL – DK: $8.1k / FD: $9.2k
  • Zack Littell – TB @ MIN – DK: $6.7k / FD: $6.4k
  • Sean Manaea – SF vs. CLE – DK: $5.7k / FD: $6.6k

Stacks:

  1. Padres: After taking down GPPs last night, we go right back to the Padres facing Lance Lynn, who is a complete MESS right now. LHH certainly are the favorable split with Soto and Grisham being the top plays, but Manny and Campusano are strong secondary options. I’m fine using 1-9 of this lineup.
  2. Cubs: Much tougher to fade them tonight than it was in game one of this series. They get Chris Flexen, who is getting tagged by both sides of the dish with an ISO allowed north of .280. This is a full 1-9 spot. If Pete Crow-Armstrong cracks the lineup, he is an elite value at $3k.
  3. Astros: I’ve used JP Sears as a value arm previously in the season, but this is not the spot vs. the Astros, who profile extremely well vs. his secondary pitches, particularly his slider. There isn’t a single bat that profiled poorly, even Dubon/Maldongado are firmly in play. Bregman and Tucker are my favorite targets.
  4. D-backs: I’m always intrigued to stack when the opposing pitcher is below average with shaky control. Jose Butto comes in with a mid-teens walk rate, while really struggling with the long ball in triple A. Not the best power park tonight, but several Snakes profile well to merit a full stack tonight. Pham, Carroll, and Walker are preferred, while Gurriel and Perdomo also show solid pitch data as secondary plays.

Today’s Edge:

  • Home Run Predictions:
    • Juan Soto
    • Alex Bregman
  • Highest Scoring Hitter: Dansby Swanson
  • Highest Scoring Pitcher: Joe Ryan
  • Top Value Play: Crow-Armstrong
  • Player to Fade: Justin Verlander
  • Slate Edge: Kyle Tucker!
