Healy’s Daily MLB DraftKings Plays – 8/23/23 (Early)

Healy’s MLB Daily Fantasy Intro:

Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 1:10pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.

I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 8/23/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

Pitching Pool:

• Corbin Burnes – MIL vs. MIN – DK: $10.5k
• George Kirby – SEA @ CWS – DK: $8.7k
• Seth Lugo – SD vs. MIA – DK: $6.7k
• Cole Ragans – KC @ OAK – DK: $5.4k

Stacks:

1. Mariners: This offense is en fuego ? right now and today they match up with the inconsistent arm of Mike Kopech. He walks batters with the best of them while allowing massive hard contact to both sides of the plate. Julio and Suarez are my favorites. While all of 2-9 are in play for me, I’m looking to avoid JP Crawford. 
2. Angels: Slight letdown from the overall stack last night, but they get another winnable matchup despite a more talented opposing pitcher with Andrew Abbott taking the bump. Abbott has been unhittable facing LHH, while he’s an average arm vs. RHH, and today he should face NINE RHH. Drury, Renfroe, and O’Hoppe profile well, I’d continue to play Trout if/where I can as well. 1-9 are all in play.
3. Royals: Not an offense I’ve used often, but on this smaller slate, and given the other matchups, they snuck into my pool facing off with Adrian Martinez. Big Sal Perez and MJ Melendez profile best, while Witt’s talent would land him in any Royal stacks I’m building. 1-7 is my focus.
4. Mini stacks & one-offs:
