ABER’s 8/20/23 MLB Breakdown

ABER's MLB Daily Fantasy Plays

What’s up, 4Deep?! Baseball is here and I’m ready to put us in the driver’s seat to hopefully take down some tournaments this year! First and foremost, baseball is the only sport that I consistently play multiple lineups. I HIGHLY recommend at least playing two lineups. Fading chalk in baseball is usually the key to taking down tournaments, but is not always the correct move. What I will be providing below is an in-depth breakdown of my top stacks of the night and I will always start with what I believe will be the chalk, followed with my favorite pitchers as well. Generally speaking, chalk is usually chalk because they are in a good spot and I will be telling you whether or not I agree with it. What I want though, is for you to understand what is chalk and then determine whether or not you want to play them! Now, let’s get to the fun part with a lot of numbers and all the pitch data you can handle!

Chalk Stack Of The Day

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Dallas Keuchel (LH)
I’m all about the chalk today. Through two starts, Keuchel hasn’t missed a bat. Liover Pegurero, Connor Joe, Andrew McCutchen, Bryan Reynolds, and Ke’Bryan Hayes.

Top Stacks Of The Day

Houston Astros vs. Emerson Hancock (RH)
Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Yanier Diaz.

Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants bullpen
Ronald Acuna, Orlando Arcia, Sean Murphy, and Marcell Ozuna, but as usual, 1-9 is in play and stackable anyway you can get them.

Top Spend Up Pitcher Of The Day

Hunter Brown (RH) vs. Seattle Mariners
Matchups aren’t great across the board, so I will be opting out of the super high end and going down to Brown. Despite Julio playing baseball like he’s from another planet, this team is still underwhelming and they strike out at a very high rate.

Top Mid Tier Pitcher Of The Day

Logan Allen (LH) vs. Detroit Tigers
Logan manages to screw me every single time I’m invested in him, but the spot once again for him is good. Over the last month, the Tigers lead the league in K rate against left handed pitching.

Top Value Pitcher Of The Day

Hyun Jin Ryu (LH) vs. Cincinnati Reds
While the Reds are obviously extremely exciting, they’re also extremely undisciplined with high K rates to both sides of the plate and this is the side of the plate I prefer to pick on them if I’m going to do that.
