TX’s NFL DFS Afternoon Slate Plays – Week 8
What’s up, 4 DEEP?! My article will cover the four afternoon games on FanDuel. Ask me any lineup questions in Discord before lock (@TX). Let’s get into it!!
UPDATES:
Favorite Stacks:
- Chiefs
- Ravens
- Seahawks
TX’s Elite QBs:
- Patrick Mahomes – On FanDuel, the price is actually down. I think he’s the safest QB on the slate going against the 32nd ranked defense allowing 2.5 passing touchdowns a game and 31st defense against passing yards, allowing 280+ yards a game. I think the floor/ceiling combo is safe enough to go him over Lamar.
- Lamar Jackson – He will come in at lower ownership than Mahomes this week. I think the Ravens finally figured it out the deciding factor is the price between them. It’s only $200 on FanDuel, so I’d rather pay up, but Jackson is a nice leverage play.
TX’s Mid Tier QB:
- Russell Wilson – At home in what should be a shootout against the Chiefs. He hasn’t showed us much, but if ever there were a spot to do it…
- Geno Smith – Always brings a solid floor and has upside at this price. He’s the cheapest he has been all season.
- Joe Burrow – We are getting a discount on him, but he’s on the road against the 49ers.
TX’s Door #3 QB:
- PJ Walker – You never know…. He’s been decent enough… The Seahawks are 23rd overall, allowing 252 passing yards a game over their last nine games and 29th, allowing 37 passing attempts a game.
TX’s Elite RBs:
- CMC – Need I say more? I would prefer Purdy to clear concussion protocol.
- Isiah Pacheco – Cheaper than Walker and we will get the same result.
- Kenneth Walker – Price is steep, but has the homerun threat.
TX’s Mid Tier RBs:
- Kareem Hunt – If Ford is out, then Hunt is even that much more in play.
- Gus Edwards – Seems to be the lead back here against a weak Cardinals’ rush defense. Always worry in this offense who will vulture a touchdown.
TX’s Door #3 RBs:
- Jaleel McLaughlin – I think he’s the explosive back in this offense in a game they will be playing from behind in.
TX’s Elite WRs:
- Courtland Sutton – The slate is weak at WR, so I’m going to Sutton. The Chiefs rank 31st to WR and Sutton is the Broncos’ redzone target.
- Ja’Marr Chase – Tough match-up against the 49ers, but with the QB situation question in San Francisco, I think it puts Chase over Aiyuk.
- Brandon Aiyuk – If Purdy is in, then he’s above Chase, just need the news.
TX’s Mid Tier WRs:
- Tyler Lockett/DK Metcalf – Both in play. I lean Lockett at the slight discount. Still waiting on the DK ceiling game.
- Marquise Brown – Ravens gave him bulletin board material. He can hit a HR on one play and has provided a solid floor this season.
- Zay Flowers – Has proven he can play and is getting more and more involved each week.
- Rashee Rice – Nice value play in the highest over/under game on the slate.
TX’s Door #3 WRs:
- Jauan Jennings – The Bengals rank 30th to WR2.
- Rashod Bateman – Cardinals rank 29th to WR3.
TX’s Elite TEs:
- Travis Kelce – No analysis needed.
- Mark Andrews – I think he’s a nice pivot off Kelce. Andrews doesn’t have the same floor, but has a comparable ceiling at a cheaper price.
TX’s Mid Tier TEs:
- George Kittle – The match-up is great, but Darnold might start and I think that hurts his upside, but he’s significantly cheaper than the other two.
- Trey McBride – Nice price tag and has become the go-to guy over Ertz.
TX’s Door #3 TEs:
- David Njoku – With Walker starting, he should see a bigger role.
Defenses:
- Bengals – If Darnold is on track to start, I think they are interesting.
- Chiefs – Defense has looked good this year, should have plenty of opportunities.
- Ravens – Looked good last week, but on the road against a Cardinal team that plays better at home.
- Seahawks – At home with Walker starting.
