Dmar’s 2023 CFB Week 9 Daily Fantasy Intro:

What’s up, 4Deep?! Week 9 is here. Enjoy another great day of football and let’s take something down! Like always, I will be in Discord (@Dmar) to help assist you with your teams before lock, and on YouTube with The Ben Hancock from 10-11am EST on Saturday morning. Good luck, everyone!

UPDATES:

Quarterbacks:

  • Caleb Williams – I worry some about what USC looks like now with nothing to really play for and Caleb with his sights set on the NFL. But he is still the most skilled QB in the country and gets a great matchup.
  • Drew Allar – Looked lost last week against Ohio State, but thankfully for him, he gets polar opposites in defenses and this could be a get-right game for him.
  • Garrett Greene – Flashed that rushing upside like we talked about last week and now gets maybe even a better matchup this week. Price remained similar and is a great play this week.
  • John Rhys Plumlee – Looked great against Oklahoma and now gets a plus matchup. He is the definition of up and down, but this makes for a great game stack.
  • Maalik Murphy – A lot of unknown on this one, but he has plenty of talent and plenty of talent around him. Plus, he has one of the top play callers in the country dialing it up for him. Slim chance he gets pulled for Manning, but there is a risk if he struggles early. GPP play.
  • Fernando Mendoza – Has looked good against some better defenses and now gets USC, who very well may have already shipped it in for the season. Great salary relief and is a very strong play.
  • GPP Mentions: Dillon Gabriel, Jordan Travis, Bo Nix, Spencer Rattler, Kedon Slovis

Running Backs:

  • Jaydn Ott – Will come in very low owned and gets a USC rush defense who has been gashed this year. Prefer the QB, but in GPPs can play both, as he is involved in the passing game.
  • Bucky Irving – Showed against Washington that in big games they want to ride Bucky. Volume is king here, plus he is one of the most skilled backs in the country.
  • Penn State backs – Both Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen are in play here against one of the worst defenses in the country. I always lean Singleton due to his big play ability.
  • Jonathon Brooks – Maybe the best back in the country the first half of the season and now they are breaking in a new QB this week. Safest play on the board.
  • Trey Benson – K-State can be very difficult with who gets the TDs, but at this price and the role he has been receiving, he makes for my favorite K-State play in a plus matchup.
  • RJ Harvey – I like me some Harvey and a good matchup this week. Both RBs in this game have a shot at putting up big numbers with Cj Donaldson being the other.
  • Le’veon Moss – Two-TD favorites and has been the best back for A&M. I’m not crazy about his upside, but good price and safe floor.
  • C’bo Flemister – I don’t like the matchup, but is cheap and has had good volume the last few weeks. Plus, we get the revenge narrative.
  • GPP Mentions: Marshawn Lloyd, Gavin Sawchuk, Jawhar Jordan, Daijun Edwards, Devin Neal, Cj Baxter

Wide Receivers:

  • Troy Franklin – Paying up for WR will get you different this week and we know what Franklin can do anytime he plays.
  • Keon Coleman – Love Coleman if Wilson is out, FSU is projected to score a lot and it’s hard to imagine Coleman not being a part of it.
  • Jamari Thrash – Target monster and priced nicely.
  • Evan Stewart – Has been terrible since Max took over, but the targets are still there with eight per game. He is due, but purely a GPP play.
  • Nic Anderson – Exploded last week in his new starting role. One was a busted coverage, but still looked great and is easy to fit with playing Gabriel.
  • KeAndre Lambert-Smith – Projects high this week largely due to how bad the Indiana defense is. But he is Allar’s favorite target and there’s a good chance he scores a long one this week.
  • Javon Baker – Put on a show against Oklahoma and JRP looked good throwing the ball. Favorite target and draws a great matchup.
  • Jeremiah Hunter – USC defense is terrible and now that their season is over, it could get even worse. Taj Davis has also seen an uptick with Mendoza.
  • Oscar Delp – Going to step into the starting TE role now that Bowers is out. We can’t expect him to be Bowers, but will handle a lot of his workload and is very cheap. Also Lawson Luckie is a deeper GPP play as Georgia runs a lot of two-TE sets and he will now see some action as well. Both top TEs in recruiting the last two cycles.
  • GPP Mentions: Xavier Worthy, Drake Stoops, Joseph Manjack, Jalil Farooq, Zachariah Branch, Trey Knox, Ja’tavion Sanders, Jayce Brown,Jaheim Bell
