Healy’s 8/15/23 MLB Breakdown

Intro:
Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 7:05pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.

I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 8/15/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

Bailey Ober – MIN vs. DET – DK: $10.2k / FD: $10.3k
Jack Flaherty – BAL @ SD – DK: $8.4k / FD: $9.6k
Nick Pivetta – BOS @ WAS – DK: $7.8k / FD: $8.5k
Touki Toussaint – CWS @ CHC – DK: $6.9k / FD: $7k

Stacks:

Mariners: Slate-winning upside tonight with the M’s facing Jordan Lyles, who is allowing over a .208 ISO to both sides of the dish. After Julio, this team is essentially free, allowing you to spend up at SP and/or get big LAD or ATL bats with them. 1-3 are the top plays while Marlowe and Canzone are strong values.
Dodgers: Adrian Houser relies on ground ball outs, and aside from David Peralta and Amed Rosario, the Doyers are stacked with Fly Ball bats, several of which profile extremely well. Freeman, Muncy, and Outman are preferred, while Mookie is a secondary spend and great pivot off Acuna/Carroll.
Braves: Copy and paste from last night. LHH preferred, Olson, Rosario, Harris, and Lopez but 1-9 all absolutely nuke cutters and it’s Severino’s secondary pitch he throws nearly 25% of the time to both hands. Lock and load the Braves once again.
White Sox: Kyle Hendricks is slightly reverse splits, allowing more damage against RHH. Outside of Robert, who is the top Sox, they are cheap and loaded with power! Robert is the top play while Eloy and Vaughn are next targets.
