Price’s 2024 The Sentry DFS Breakdown

We are back my friends, another new PGA season kicked off at the Sentry. They changed it up this year, adding people who not only won, but also finished top 50. We have a field of 59 with Rory being the only qualified golfer not to play. They’re in Hawaii like always for this event, so they’ll be finishing when the east coast people are going to bed. Forecast looks like rain and 20 MPH wins Friday and Saturday, so I would expect it to play more in the -18 range than -34 like Rahm won at last year. All prices listed are for DraftKings.

$9K+:

Scheffler – Top ranked golfer in the model and world, can’t putt for shit, but everything else he is great at.
Hovland – Second in stat model, will end the season as second in world ranking. Vastly improved his play here last season.
Cantlay – Seventh in stats, has multiple top 4 finishes here, will be a big season for PC.
Homa- Only rates 19th in my model, but I love his game and he has been trending up for 18 months straight.
Morikawa – Rates fifth in stats, should’ve won last year, but absolutely blew it down the final four holes. Will be chalky, but I love him this week.
Fleetwood – Gets in on the new format rules because he doesn’t ever win on the PGA tour, rates 13th in stats and this year he will snag a win.

$7.5K+:

Tom Kim – Rates 16th in stats, finished fifth here last year, expect another good year from Tom.
Aberg – My pick to win this week, kid is an absolute fucking stud. He will win multiple times this season.
Finau – My second bet for the week, had a down 2023, but I expect a rebound season from Tony.
Sungjae – Rates 24th in stats, but he had a bad year for him in 2023, but has three top 13 finishes here the last three years.
Matsuyama – Rates 21st, has done okay here in the past, but in this range I like him over the guys cheaper.
Henley – Henley rates fourth in stats, finished 30th here last year, will always come down to his putter.

$6K+:

Cole – Rates third in stats, had a huge season as an official rookie in 2023, is elite at birdies or better and DK scoring.
Poston – Rates sixth in stats, was high on him all last year and he had a career year. Has played here twice with a 21st and 11th place finish.
Davis – Rates 12th in stats, finished 10th in his only appearance here. Dude is a DK scoring machine and you get four rounds from him.
Todd – Rates 23rd in stats, has two appearances here with a top 15 finish. Added a bunch of distance last year, so he’s no longer a plodder and can be in play on courses like this.
Moore – More of a gut play than stats, he seemingly always was in contention before fading on Sundays last year. His putting is elite AF, so if his irons can be above average, he can pop.
Svensson – Rates 14th in stats, got familiar with this course last year, and had a solid fall swing.
List – Surprisingly List won last year, and rates out 11th in stats. He is another “good at everything except putting” player, and finished 11th here last year.
