Price’s 2023 RSM Classic DFS Breakdown

This week they head down to Sea Island for the fall swing’s final event of the season, The RSM Classic. It will be down in Georgia, and they split it the first two days playing different courses, and then the weekend will be played at the seaside course. The Plantation course is typically the one you want to target in showdown because it has the extra par 5’s and is short and getable. The field is actually decent, headlined by Ludvig Aberg and Brian Harman. All prices listed are for DraftKings.

$9K+:

  • Aberg: $10,900 – The most talented player in this field, is elite T2G and giving himself birdie opportunities. His wedge play is not the best, but this is an event he should be contending at with how elite his skill set is.
  • Henley: $9700 – Top play in the stat model, he rates first overall. He will be popular, as really his only struggle is the putter, so I am going to just pray to god the last three months he spent learning how to putt again.
  • Noren: $9400 – Noren has looked solid this fall, rates fifth in stats for me, and is a good pivot from Russ or JT, who are priced on either side of him.
  • Poston: $9300 – Postman rates fourth for me in stats, and was the outright I picked in my video this week. I am not fading him, and I expect a top five finish.
  • GPP Plays: Harman, Conners, Cole

$8K+:

This range is kinda meh this week. Couple good targets, the rest are fringe plays, which means they will probably pop off.

  • Svensson: $8600 – Defending champ who rates 17th in stats for me. He is like…a slightly worse version of Russell Henley. Good everywhere, but terrible putting, we are hoping for a break-even week with the flat stick.
  • Bhatia: $8100 – He rates 29th for me, so it is not the best value, but we have seen him pop in birdie fests. This is much more of a gut play than a statistical one.
  • Smalley: $8000 – Smalley is so frustrating sometimes. He rates seventh in the stat model, but his putting is just so bad he never does what we need him to. He is top five in the field in approach and tee to green stats.
  • GPP Plays: Kuchar, Spaun, Todd

$7K+:

The 7k range is where the winning lineups will differentiate themselves.

  • Kirk: $7900 – Kirko is a previous winner here, rates third in stats for me, and is top 10 in the important metrics I am pulling – i.e., approach, tee to green, and GIR. Look for him to easily cruise to a top 20.
  • Hadley: $7900 – He is one of the more under-appreciated players on tour, but he rates 20th for me this week and has played very well this fall. This is close to home for him, and he has a couple decent finishes here previously.
  • Pendrith: $7600 – Pendrith rates 15th for me, finished 15th here last year, and 26th the year before. He has three top 15 finishes in a row coming in, and I love him at this price range.
  • Griffin: $7500 – Griffin rates 31st for me this week, finished 29th here last year, and has made five of six cuts coming into this week. He was in contention a couple weeks ago and fell off, but I fully expect another big season from him.
  • Schenk: $7400 – Schenk rates 18th for me, is top 10 in approach and tee to green, but is apparently not very good at hitting approach shots with his sand wedge/ pitching wedge. He has made the cut here two of the four times he has played.
  • Ryder: $7200 – Ryder rates 10th for me in stats this week, doing everything well except hitting fairways and seaside will let him go less than driver a lot to shore that up (puns are fun). Love him at this price tag this week.
  • Moore: $7100 –  Moore rates ninth for me in the stat model, which is crazy, but his only downside is his putting, which we know I think is flukey AF and can get hot at anytime, so I love this play at this price.
  • GPP plays: KH Lee, Lindhelm, Ghim, Hubbard, Palmer, Kohles, Cink, Eckroat, Wu, NeSmith, Merritt

$6K+:

This is the price range you expect most of the missed cuts to come from, you’ve just got to hope that if you use anyone here, he makes the cut and can finish top 40. These are not guys you play in 50%+ of your lineups if you run 10 lineups.

  • Young: $6900 – Young rates sixth in the stat model this week, with his proximity with wedges being elite, and approach top 15 in the field. At this price point, you need a made cut for him to pay off.
  • Lower: $6900 – Lower rates 27th for me in stats, has made three cuts in a row with his finishing position getting better each week, and seems to have turned a corner this fall.
  • Blair: $6600 – Blair rates 23rd for me in stats this week. He finished in a tie for 29th here last year, and all you need from him is a made cut at this price to pay off and anything inside the top 40 is gravy.
  • GPP Darts: Kizzire, Shelton, Roy, Martin, Duncan, Teater, Kodaira, Knox, Kraft, Molinari

Core 3 For The Week If:

  • doing stars and scrubs – Aberg, Henley, Moore
  • doing balanced build – Henley, Poston, Kirk
