Healy’s Daily MLB DraftKings Plays – 9/11/23

Healy's MLB DFS Breakdown

Healy’s MLB Daily Fantasy Intro:

Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 7:07pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.

Cheatsheet:

I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 9/11/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.

$ Tier SP C 1B 2B 3B SS OF
Top Tier Tyler Glasnow Jonah Heim Christian Walker Nico Hoerner  Raf Devers Corey Seager Yordong/Soto
Mid Tier Logan Gilbert Yan Gomes Nate Lowe Ha-Seong Kim Man Machado(e) JP Crawford Yoshida/Suzuki
Value Tier Reid Detmers Luis Campusano Pat Wisdom Emmanuel Valdez Josh Smith Jordan Lawlar Taveras/Abreu/Grisham

Pitching Pool:

  • Tyler Glasnow – TB @ MIN – DK: $10.8k / FD: $11.5k
  • Logan Gilbert – SEA vs. LAA – DK: $9.2k / FD: $10.2k
  • Gavin Williams – CLE @ SF – DK: $8k / FD: $7.2k
  • Reid Detmers – LAA @ SEA – DK: $7.1k / FD: $7.8k

Stacks:

  1. Padres: Under the radar spot for the Padres tonight facing off with Gavin Stone, a youngster who has been brought up a few times out of necessity and he has stunk each and every time. He has ~10% K rate and shaky command. 1-5 are the preferred bats and I’d look to 1-2 of the value bats in the second half, Campusano or Grisham are preferred.
  2. Cubs: Heading to Coors Field to face Kyle Freeland (LHP), who has consistently struggled to generate swings and misses (~13%) and isn’t generating nearly the number of ground balls that he used to. RHH have found ample success against him. Gomes, Morel, and Suzuki look best in terms of pitch data, but this is a full 1-9 stack spot at what projects as the highest-owned offense on the night.
  3. Rangers: Odd to see the Rangers here facing Chris Bassitt, however, today’s version of the Rangers’ lineup can get extremely left handed and that’s the split in which Bassitt doesn’t find much success. Heim and Seager are the top plays, followed by Lowe and Taveras. 1-9 all in play.
  4. Red Sox: Sox facing Schmidt, who has been fairly elite vs. RHH while below average to lefties, allowing an ISO over .200 and K rate down below 20%. Devers is the lead dog, while Abreu and Valdez offer the salary relief needed to get double stud SP.

Today’s Edge:

  • Home Run Predictions:
    • Corey Seager
    • Yan Gomes
  • Highest Scoring Hitter: Raf Devers
  • Highest Scoring Pitcher: Logan Gilbert
  • Top Value Play: Trent Grisham
  • Player to Fade: Brendan Rodgers
  • Slate Edge: Juan Soto
