Dmar’s CFB Daily Fantasy Intro:
What’s up, 4Deep! We have finally made it to the first real Saturday of the college football season! While we don’t have a lot of quality games, there is plenty to like on the fantasy side. Enjoy having a full day of football, and let’s take something down! Like always, I will be in Discord to help assist anyone with their team. Good luck, everyone!
UPDATE:
Quarterbacks:
- Bo Nix – Really found himself last year at Oregon, and now he’s back for one last ride. I’m sure he will say he came back to win the national championship but I think he’s got the Heisman on his mind. What better way to kick off the year then a cake matchup in one he could smash in 2 maybe 2 and half quarters. All these top price guys are in similar spots with being heavy favorites so if i’m paying up it will be for Bo.
- Joe Milton – The hype train is at an all time high for bazooka Joe and while im not sold on his overall QB play i think he will have some monster games this season due to this offense he is in. UVA should provide little resistance and if they somehow keep it close and we get 4 qtrs of him he could break the slate.
- Michael Penix Jr – Similar to Bo, Penix found a level to his game since heading out west and he has some of the best weapons out there this season. I think Boise St. can put up some points and keep this game somewhat close, allowing Penix to show off his arm talent. Provides little on the ground, but can run when needed. Taylen Green really flashed at times last season after taking over as the starter. While they don’t run him a lot, he is definitely capable and can out stride anyone on the field. For Penix to have that ceiling game, we would need Green to try and match, so on a slate with a lot of lopsided lines, this one could pop off as a tournament-winning game stack.
- Chandler Morris – Many forget that it was Morris to start the season last year before getting hurt and turning it over to Max Duggan, who found himself in New York at the end of the year. Morris is similar to Duggan with his ability to run and has that gunslinger mentality. Colorado is a rebuilt team and I just don’t see this defense stopping most competent offenses. Love this price tag on him. Shedeur Sanders on the other side of this game could make for a fun game stack. The entire team is rebuilt, so to think they come out clicking early might be a bit of a stretch, but he had some big games at a lower level and is coming into this season with something to prove. We all know Primetime would want nothing more than to showcase his son in this nationally televised game.
- GPP Mentions – Dillon Gabriel, Tony Muskett, Devin Leary, Quinn Ewers
Running Backs:
- Quinshon Judkins – This will probably be the cheapest tag we see on Judkins all season. He is arguably the best running back in the country, and while I dont think he gets more than 13 or so carries, he could easily go for over 100 and two scores and pay off this price.
- Braelon Allen – Similar to Judkins, this price tag is too cheap for this type of talent at running back. I think Buffalo could give more of a test to Wisconsin though, so I do feel as Allen is a tad safer.
- Ray Davis – Moving over to another SEC East school, he was fantastic at Vandy last season and now steps into a lead back role at a school who loves to feature their top back. Close to 100 yards and a TD seem almost a lock for him, and if things go his way, he has upside for a lot more.
- Dillon Johnson – Moving over from Mississippi St., the former Bulldog steps into the starting role on an offense who will score a lot of points this season. We know he can get it done in a pass catcher role, but he’s looking to prove he can get it done between the tackles. Too cheap for his expected role in this offense and makes for a very nice play.
- Kaleb Johnson – Iowa having an expected team total in the 30s is something we don’t see very often, so if Vegas thinks they are going to score some points, Johnson should be leading the charge. With their starting QB still a little banged up, they should lean on the ground attack even more.
- Texas running back – Both CJ Baxter and Jonathon Brooks are listed as starters in this one. Both priced almost identical as well, but one and maybe even both, could have a great game in this one. Slight lean to Brooks being the guy who returns from last season and is a tad cheaper, but CJ is a highly-touted freshman and should come in lower owned.
- Emani Bailey – Gets the first crack at the starting role this season and I’m looking for him to have a big season. Like I mentioned earlier, this Colorado defense should put up little resistance and Bailey could have a monster game.
- GPP Mentions – TreVeyon Henderson, Jordan James, Zak Wallace, Gavin Sawchuk, Audric Estime
Wide Receivers:
- Marvin Harrison Jr – I thought about leaving him off the write up, as this price is just so high, but we’re talking about the best WR in the country and whichever QB is in for the Buckeyes will be looking his way a lot. Emeka Egbuka is actually my preferred play for the Buckeyes, as i think he is more appropriately priced. Both are elite talents and the only thing that could hold them back is questionable QB play.
- Rome Odunze – Is looking to put up even bigger numbers this season with Penix returning. This could be the top duo in the country production-wise. Might not see him this cheap the rest of the season. Jalen Mcmillan is his running mate and makes for a good 1-2 punch. I have no problem double stacking Penix with these two studs.
- Xavier Worthy – One of my favorite current college players, Worthy is looking to duplicate what he did as a freshman. He has elite speed and Ewers will be looking to take shots with him often. This Texas WR room is one of the deepest in the country, especially when you account for their freak at TE, Ja’Tavion Sanders. Isaiah Neyor returns after missing all of last season and is a stud as well, who put up big numbers at Wyoming. All three are fine plays and can be stacked with Ewers. Not a recommended play, as he is waiting behind Worthy and Neyor, but Johntay Cook is an electric freshman who Sark may have trouble keeping off the field, as he is similar to what we saw in Branch for USC last week.
- Ryan O’Keefe – We saw what Zay Flowers did in this BC offense a season ago, and while BC might not be a preferred offense to attack, O’Keefe was a stud at UCF and could step into a large role and could go overlooked.
- Bru McCoy/Ramel Keyton – Both guys are just simply mispriced. Milton is going to throw for a lot of yards this season and both of these guys are looking to be primary targets. Keyton is my favorite play on the board, as I think a deep TD is almost a lock for him in this one. Bru should get more looks and is maybe a tad safer, but going Milton and these two are a good stack option and doesn’t require much salary. Squirrel White is more of a slot guy and also a fine play, I just think he is priced more correctly.
- Barion Brown – Love me some Barion this week, as I think he will have a huge year with Leary. One of the most dangerous guys in the country, with his elite speed he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
- GPP Mentions – Jalil Farooq, JP Richardson, Luke Lachey, Troy Franklin, Will Pauling, Jaden Greathouse
