Dmar’s 2023 CFB Week 12 Daily Fantasy Intro:
What’s up, 4Deep?! Week 12 is here. Enjoy another great day of football and let’s take something down! Like always, I will be in Discord (@Dmar) to help assist you with your teams before lock. Good luck, everyone!
UPDATES:
Quarterbacks:
- Dillon Gabriel – Nuked last week and draws a very favorable BYU matchup this week. Safest spend on the board for QBs.
- Jordan McCloud – Continues to put up big numbers, even in blowouts. We saw what he was capable of last time he was on the slate, and now with everything JMU has going on with the NCAA, I can see them trying to send a message.
- Donovan Smith – The running for Smith has ramped up the last couple weeks and now he gets a fun game environment against a OK State team who just got embarrassed. Best play at QB for price and upside.
- Carson Beck – Georgia is rolling right now and Beck looks more and more comfortable. Don’t love the price, but makes for a great GPP play in a game Georgia should have no issues scoring.
- Drake Maye – Big game for UNC on the road and one that should present Maye with plenty of opportunities to showcase his talent. Pairing him with Walker will be pricey, but a great GPP combo. Cade Klubnik runback makes for a sneaky game stack.
- Ethan Garbers – We will continue to play cheap QBs against USC, and in a game with a 65 total, he will be the preferred value at QB this week.
- I think both Caleb Williams and Bo Nix are fine plays, but for the price and what it takes to stack them, I prefer cheaper options.
Running Backs:
- Bucky Irving – My favorite spend on the day as he gets his through the air and ground and should have a positive game script. Nix being the Heisman favorite does scare me some, as he will look to get his numbers, but a game against ASU isn’t going to be a make or break for him.
- Carson Steele – We talked about QBs against USC already, well, we are going to attack with RB as well. This is a must-win for UCLA and Chip Kelly and getting Steele involved will be much needed if they want to have a chance in this one.
- Ollie Gordon – The regression finally hit last week, but to be fair, the entire team looked like they didn’t show up. The price is as high as we have seen all year, but if he gets back to form, he can still pay off that tag.
- Gavin Sawchuk – Looks like Sawchuk has finally taken the reins for this OK running attack. Plus matchup and a solid price makes him a great play on Saturday.
- Phil Mafah – Priced like a backup, and even though he may be on the depth chart, he continues to look like the best back and carries are showing that. Didn’t find the endzone last week, but 100 yards and a TD should be in line for Mafah Saturday.
- Ty Son Lawton – Has taken over the backfield for JMU and with a 32 team total, he will be one of the most popular values on the board.
Wide Receivers:
- Troy Franklin – Pricey, but they don’t come much safer at the WR position than Franklin.
- Jamari Thrash – L’ville will need a big game out of their stars, Thrash and Jordan, in this one. After having a quiet performance a week ago, I think he bounces back and puts up a nice score.
- Devontez Walker – Possibly the highest upside player on the board this week. Walker continues to impress, and in big games like this, look for Maye to target him early and often.
- Rashod Owens – Great game environment and volume makes Owens just too cheap and is a very solid play.
- Samuel Brown – With Golden out, Brown and Manjack will be relied upon more. Manjack should get more ownership after having a good game a week ago and being cheaper, but Brown has flashed this year and makes for a good GPP play in a game you want exposure to.
- Drake Stoops – Gabriel has really locked on to Stoops the last few weeks and, if this continues, this price is simply too cheap. Preferred pairing with Gabriel.
- Elijah Sarratt – You will want Sarratt or Reggie Brown if you play McCloud. Don’t let the last time they were on the slate make you not play them, as they have been great outside of that game. Great prices and can be double stacked.
- Logan Loya – The UCLA offense has been bad, but Loya has actually looked pretty good this season. If this game shoots out, he is simply too cheap and could smash this tag. Preferred pairing with Garbers.
