Dmar’s Daily CFB DraftKings Plays – 10/7/23

DMar's DraftKings CFB Daily Fantasy Plays

Dmar’s 2023 CFB Week 6 Daily Fantasy Intro:

What’s up, 4Deep?! Week 6 is here. Enjoy another great day of football and let’s take something down! Like always, I will be in Discord (@Dmar) to help assist you with your teams before lock, and on YouTube with The Ben Hancock from 10-11am EST on Saturday morning. Good luck, everyone!

UPDATES: It looks like Etienne will be out for Florida. Makes Montrell Johnson a great play and also Treyaun Webb a great value as the backup and in a game Florida should be playing with the lead.

Quarterbacks:

  • Drake Maye – Is our top priced QB on the slate. His performances this year don’t quite add up to this tag, but we have seen what he was capable of last season. He does get back his top WR this week, which should help inflate his numbers. This could be a great time to jump on the Maye train, who should see lower ownership due to the other QB priced below him. Excellent GPP play.
  • Jayden Daniels – Has been tremendous to start the season and offers everything we want on a DFS QB. Loves to tuck the ball and run and arguably has the best duo of WRs in the country. Add in an above-average matchup, Daniels makes for the top QB on the slate. He will come with ownership, and I worry some about Mizzu being able to keep up, but this is your safest QB play. Brady Cook makes for a great game stack option. LSU defense has been rough to start the season, and while Mizzu doesn’t stack up to some of the offenses they have faced, they have plenty of options to attack this defense.
  • Cameron Ward – Who has been better to start the season at the QB position than Ward? Ward has taken a huge leap this season under the new OC, who brought over the Air Raid offense. Ward has another big test this week in UCLA, who has yet to face an offense like this. Ward is in a price range that I think will cause him to be a bit overlooked, and could be a low-owned slate winner.
  • Garrett Shrader – A true grinder in the college fantasy world. Shrader won’t wow you with his play, but the usage is great for this price and provides a pretty safe floor for this range. UNC defense is improved, but there are still ways for Shrader to attack them and put up a good score.
  • Kyrone Drones – Drones had a coming out game last week with a 36-point performance and while he has been filling in for the starter, this might be Drones’ team now. This isn’t a great matchup, but we have seen mobile QBs give FSU problems multiple times this season and Drones has two games with over twenty carries so far since taking over. Good price for the rushing upside and in a game they should be trailing.
  • GPP Mentions: Dillon Gabriel, Quinn Ewers, Jalen Milroe, Max Johnson, John Rhys Plumlee – if starting, Tanner Mordecai

Running Backs:

  • Braelon Allen – Allen now has full run at this backfield, as his fellow RB Mellusi was lost for the season last game out. One of the highest prices we have seen on a back this season, but I think with what his new role should be and his ability, it makes for a fair price. A big home favorite and a favorable matchup set up Allen for a prime spot.
  • Jonathan Brooks – Brooks looked tremendous last week, and like we continue to see, this is Brooks’ backfield with CJ Baxter playing just a complementary role. I do think this game plays differently than past years, with both teams having improved defenses, but I think Texas can find some success running the ball, and with everyone looking to play QBs in this game, I think Brooks can come in underowned.
  • Will Shipley – Rinse and repeat with Mr. Shipley. He did finally receive a price increase, but not enough to get me off of him. Wake has yet to face a RB of his caliber, and as big favorites at home, Shipley should get plenty of work to pay off his tag.
  • Devin Neal – This is an interesting game, as we get a good total, but I think it will get a bit overlooked with other spots this week. Uncertainty at QB for both teams, so I will stick to using the RBs in this game. Neal struggled getting going last week, but that was due more to game flow. Good bounce-back spot for him and also very interested in RJ Harvey on the UCF side. He continues to lead the team in carries and this Kansas defense just got torched on the ground against Texas.
  • Logan Diggs – Has taken over as the lead guy for this high-powered LSU offense. I think he makes a great leverage spot against the chalky QB and WR for LSU. if LSU gets up early, he could absolutely smash. Pairing him with one of the LSU receivers makes for a great way to get exposure to this offense and hope game script goes your way.
  • LeQuint Allen – Is possibly one of the steadiest RBs on the season. Great price, and while I think UNC will give Syracuse some issues, he doesn’t need a lot to pay off his tag and has shown ways to get there in both winning and losing efforts.
  • Montrell Johnson Jr – Florida looks to get back on track after the beating UK gave them last week. No better way to do that than to get your RB going against a below average Vandy defense. If his fellow RB Etienne is ruled out, Johnson makes for an outstanding play and will be in a smash spot.
  • GPP Mentions: TreVeyon Henderson, Chip Trayanum, Jackson Acker, CJ Baxter, Jase McClellan, Carson Steele

Wide Receivers:

  • Marvin Harrison Jr – QB play has severely limited Harrison’s numbers this season, but with a below average defense coming to town, Harrison is in a spot to have a day. This price tag is high, so he won’t be someone I’m jamming in my lineups, but if you have the salary, he is fully in play. Emeka Egbuka gives you a price discount and can outperform Harrison Jr on any day, I think he comes in at single-digit ownership due to price and others below him.
  • Luther Burden – Huge opportunity here for Burden and this Mizzu offense. He gets to face a defense that has yet to show they can stop an average offense and Burden has taken a huge leap forward this season. Burden with an LSU receiver makes for a great pairing, but will also come with high ownership.
  • Malik Nabers – Both Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr come in about $1500 too cheap. They have been unstoppable this season and a matchup with Mizzu will not be a challenge to the talented pair. It will be very hard to make a lineup without one of the two and can easily play both with Daniels.
  • Xavier Worthy – Has yet to have a big game, but the targets and production continue to be steady and it’s only a matter of time before he connects on a couple of long shots for TDs. Like I mentioned earlier, I don’t think this is your normal Red River Rivalry, but these offenses are too good not to produce some sort of offense.
  • Johnny Wilson – Is this the week Wilson finally finds the end zone? I think so, he continues to put up good numbers without scoring, so it’s just a matter of when, not if, for this talented WR.
  • Josh Kelly – Both Kelly and Kyle Williams make for a great pairing with Ward. We saw monster games from both against what has shown so far to be a good Oregon State defense. Like Ward, Kelly and Williams are thriving in this new offense, and one, if not both, could have another big day at low ownership.
  • Javon Baker – This UCF receiver room has been a bit up and down, but the talent is still there. Baker, along with Kobe Hudson and Xavier Townsend, all make for interesting GPP plays and I could see one having a big day.
  • Amari Niblack – ‘Bama will have to pass to find success against A&M, and Niblack has been maybe the most steady performer for Milroe. He is cheap enough not to have to produce a lot, but has 65 yards, and a TD is in his range and would be plenty for this tag.
  • Devontez Walker – The talented transfer finally gets his chance to play after being ruled ineligible to start the season. The good news is that he has continued to be at practice with the team this season, so a seamless insertion of him in the offense should be no problem. He was viewed as the most talented player on the roster outside of Maye, and even if he doesn’t get a full workload in his first game, he is a very talented deep threat and one big TD easily pays off this tag.
  • GPP Mentions: Andrel Anthony, Ja’tavion Sanders, AD Mitchell, Tai Felton, CJ Williams, Keon Coleman, Ainias Smith, Ricky Pearsall, Carlos Hernandez
