DMar's DraftKings CFB Daily Fantasy Plays

Dmar’s Daily Fantasy College Football Plays – 1/1/24:

UPDATES:

Cheatsheet:

$ Tier QB RB WR
Top Tier  Michael Penix  Bucky Irving  Rome Odunze
Mid Tier  Garrett Nussmeier   CJ Baxter  Tez Johnson
Value Tier  Tanner Mordecai   Jackson Acker  Will Pauling

Top Plays:

  • Michael Penix – The best fantasy environment out of any game we have had this bowl season. Penix is a stud and finally has all three of his WRs healthy. Combine that with the struggles Texas has had in the secondary this season, and he makes for the top QB play on the day. Quinn Ewers will be a popular play as well with most trying to stack up this game.
  • Bo Nix – Interesting game here as Oregon has a few opt-outs, but Bo decided to still play in this one. Largest team total on the day, but with his top WR out Saturday, he makes for a little bit riskier of a play even against an outmatched defense. Great GPP play.
  • Garrett Nussmeier – Rumors of him starting over Jayden Daniels began earlier this season after their loss to FSU, but that’s when Daniels went on his Heisman run, so never was thought of again. But the talent is there and even if Nabers and Thomas only play some of the game, there is plenty of WR talent on this LSU team and Nuss could lead the slate on passing yards. Tanner Mordecai should be asked to throw the ball a ton in this one with Wisconsin’s top two backs out in this one. We know how bad this LSU defense has been this season. Great game stack, but trickier to pick pieces compared to Texas/Washington.
  • Jalen Milroe – The ultimate GPP play today, as Michigan has an elite defense all season, but has yet to face an offense of this level. Would only play if making multiple teams.
  • Bucky Irving – Bucky does it all and is underpriced for his upside. This game could go in a few different directions so it makes him a bit risky, but if you think it stays close, he will be a great play. If you think it gets out of hand, I would lean to Jordan James, who will get snaps regardless and has been a TD machine this season.
  • CJ Baxter – Elite freshman back and priced very nicely. Texas has shown they will use three backs since losing starter Jonathan Brooks. But Baxter should get the most looks and Washington can be beaten on the ground.
  • Blake Corum – I haven’t played a RB against ‘Bama all season, but Michigan is determined to get the running game going, so Corum could get there off pure volume.
  • Dillon Johnson – Will be on the field almost all game and while it’s hard to score on Texas on the ground, he makes for a good GPP play.
  • Jackson Acker – gets the start for Wisconsin today and even with the bad lSU defense and Wisconsin’s love for running, he makes for a risky play. Only real value we have at RB, so will be more owned then probably should be. Cade Yacamelli will be the other back in rotation.
  • Rome Odunze – Elite WR who can get his against anyone. With Jalen McMillian back, it does drop some of his volume, but if you will need one of these two with stacking Penix. Ja’lynn Polk makes for a great GPP play and will be much less owned than the other two. Double stack of two of the three here is very much in play.
  • Tez Johnson- With no Troy Franklin, Tez is the top guy now in this Oregon WR room. Should be one of the most owned player on the slates and is good chalk. Trashon Holden should get more looks now and Bo Nix has shown he trusts Holden in moments this season and makes for a good value.
  • Adonai Mitchell – Has really flashed towards the end of the season and may actually be Texas’ top WR. Xavier Worthy is always in play due to his big-play ability and should be healthy after hurting his ankle in the last game. Ja’Tavion Sanders is a great secondary piece to this passing attack and could be used solo or in a double stack.
  • Will Pauling – Not many pieces left in this Wisconsin WR room. Pauling has been the most consistent of the group and makes for a great value piece today. Bryson Green is another you can take a shot on.
  • LSU WRs – Nabers and Thomas are both expected to play, but I doubt we see much of them. If we hear they are going to play the whole game, they make for elite tournament plays. Nabers only needs 32 yards to break the record, so I can see him getting that and then sitting. Kyren Lacy, Chris Hilton and Aaron Anderson would all make for risky, but high-upside, plays if they both sit or are limited. Lacy being the safest as he has started all season anyway and Hilton being the biggest upside play.
  • Jermaine Burton – Great shot he catches a long one today and along with Isiah Bond make for interesting GPP plays. Also think Amari Niblack can be a mismatch in this game and is a good value play. If playing Showdown in this ‘Bama game, Kendrick Law is cheap and could be a play to get you different and take down a big GPP.

Core 4:

  • Michael Penix, CJ Baxter, Jalen McMillian, Tez Johnson

GPP 4:

  • Garrett Nussmeier, Bucky Irving, Chris Hilton, Trashon Holden
