Dmar’s CFB DFS Showdown Plays – 1/8/24

DMar's DraftKings CFB Daily Fantasy Plays

Dmar’s CFB DraftKings Showdown Plays – 1/8/24:

CFP National Championship
Washington +4.5, Team total 26
Michigan -4.5, Team total 30.5
O/U-56.5

We should be in store for a much better championship than we got last season. Even as a Bama fan, I will admit we truly have the two best teams in the country squaring off in this one. Michigan has gotten it done all year with an old school approach, playing fantastic defense and running the football. With Washington, we get the uptempo passing attack led by the best QB we’ve had the pleasure to see this season. Michigan has yet to see an offense of this caliber this season, but the same can be said for Washington not seeing a defense like Michigan’s, so one will have to give in tonight. Blake Corum will be the top owned guy in both captain and utility, and rightfully so, his two TDs odds for this one is only at +100. Playing JJ over Corum would instantly make your team different and he has the skill to run one in and throw for a couple. Penix in the captain spot would need at least two of his WRs paired with him, or you could take a chance at getting his WR right and playing one at the captain spot. The Washington run game is more of a fade for me, but if you get it right, could pay off big. Good luck everyone and thanks again for another fun season! UPDATES:

Top Plays:

  • Blake Corum – Top play in this game. Teams have been able to run on Washington this season and Corum is one of the best in the country. Add in the fact they force feed him, and he will be the top owned player on the slate. Barring injury, there is no reason he won’t be on the winning lineup.
  • JJ McCarthy – Hasn’t been in the position to have big games this season, as they have been able to run the football and play with the lead. But, he does have a lot of talent and can make plays with his legs. Hard to fit both him and Corum, so he makes for a great GPP play, and if this game turns into a shootout, he could have a monster game.
  • Michael Penix Jr – This Michigan defense is no joke, but neither is this Washington passing attack. Penix is as battle-tested as any QB in the country, playing in his sixth year. He is playing at an all-time high and with the combinations at WR he has, I think they will really challenge this defense.
  • Rome Odunze – Top 3 WR in the country and one we will be watching on Sundays for the foreseeable future.
  • Jalen McMillIian – Was hurt for a good portion of the season, but looked good last time out against Texas. Was a coin flip picking between him and Odunze before the injury.
  • Roman Wilson – JJ’s go-to guy, they don’t like to pass it a lot, but when they do, Wilson has shown a knack for finding the endzone and making big plays.
  • Colston Loveland – One of the cheaper options I think you can take a shot on at the captain spot. Will be on the field almost the whole game and TE is a spot that gives Washington problems.
  • Cornelius Johnson – Cheap price tag for a secondary piece of this passing attack. Hoping for a big play.
  • Ja’Lynn Polk – Stepped up big this season when McMillan went down and has carried that over even with his return. Big play guy and plays on the outside with Odunze and McMillan in the slot.
  • Dillon Johnson – Coming in hurt, but is supposed to play. Has a very tough matchup, but showed he can still put up points with goal line work. (Tybo Rogers would get work if Johnson is out or limited)
  • Jack Westover – Big TE for Washington who will get a lot of snaps. Really just depends on Michigan’s game plan on how involved he will be.
  • Tyler Morris – Showed off some impressive speed against Alabama on his way to scoring a TD. Was his first one on the year, but did see an uptick on snaps. Dart throw play.
  • Donovan Edwards – Battled injuries most of the season and has just never looked himself. We know what he is capable of when healthy, I’m just not sure he is there and even lost some snaps to Kalel Mullings against Alabama. Risky, but high upside play at low ownership.
  • Germie Bernard – Youngster of the WR corps, but has flashed at times this season. Won’t be out there all the time, but could still make a big play or two. Decent value.
  • AJ Barner – Blocking TE for Michigan, but we need some value and could find the endzone.
  • Semaj Morgan – Had some plays designed for him last game and is another shot you can take for value.
  • James Turner – Michigan kicker.
  • Grady Gross – Washington kicker.

Core 4:

  • CPT – Corum, Odunze, Penix, Loveland

GPP Core 4:

  • CPT – JJ, McMillan, Roman Wilson, Donovan Edwards
