Ben’s 8/11/23 MLB Breakdown

What’s up, 4Deep!? Big Shoutout to Aber for the awesome call last night on Liberatore. If you played him, you made money, now let’s keep the magic going on this fine Friday night! I’m writing this early because there’s a chance I may get stuck at work until 4, so if anything needs updated, I’ll do so as soon as I get off and let you know in Discord. LET’S FUCK!!!

PITCHERS

Corbin Burnes DK $11,200 – I don’t love the price, but a good matchup here, especially if Robert is out. He also strangely has been much better on the road this season. If we can find the value, I’m perfectly fine spending up on Burnes tonight.
Lance Lynn DK $8,900 – I think he’s found a home in LA, and even though this Rockies team is much worse against lefties, they still suck.
Jon Gray DK $8,100 – One of my favorite plays on the slate and hope to get him low-owned. Gray has shown the GPP-winning upside we need on a night like tonight, and gets the boost with the pitchers’ park. Good matchup against the Giants, too.
Cristopher Sanchez DK $7,200 – My only fear is that the Phillies don’t let him go super deep in this game, but the matchup is elite, and he could easily go off for 20-25 DK points.
Johan Oviedo DK $7,000 – Seems like a misprice as he’s all the way up to $9.3K on FD. But, this Reds team has been very underwhelming over the last couple of weeks and Oviedo has been great in four of his last five starts.

STACKS

Braves – Megill has legit been awful this year and I expect the Braves to tee off against him like they do literally everyone. 1-9 all in play, with Acuna, Olson, Albies, and Arcia being my favorites.
Phillies – Phillies have looked much better as of late, and now get to face DK and we couldn’t ask for a better matchup, lol. All righties in play and Schwarber/Stott, who will come in low-owned.
Astros – Now that this Astros lineup is fully healthy, I look to get a piece of them every night. Tonight, they get a tasty matchup against Detmers, who is a reverse splits pitcher and gives up bombs to righties… Sign me up!! Whole lineup in play and I’ll be using one of either Yordong or Tucker to round out my stacks. If you can fit both, do it, they are just super expensive.
Royals – I’m convinced Wainwright is one of the worst pitchers in the league at this point in his career and the Royals have been swinging a good stick. 1-5 are my favorites, but don’t be afraid to throw a cheapie at the bottom of the order. Melendez is hitting a dong tonight, so be sure to include him on your stacks.
