TX’s NFL DFS Afternoon Slate Plays – Week 16
What’s up, 4 DEEP?! My article will cover the three afternoon games on FanDuel. Ask me any lineup questions in Discord before lock (@TX). Let’s get into it!!
UPDATES:
Favorite Stacks:
- Dolphins
- Cowboys
- Bucs
TX’s Elite QBs:
- Justin Fields – At home against the Cardinals this weekend. He has the passing and rushing upside, which gives us a nice floor and ceiling combo.
- Dak Prescott – We have seen the Cowboys on the road, and I don’t expect a lot to change against Miami. With that being said, Dak still has the highest ceiling on the slate in a game script that favors offenses.
TX’s Mid Tier QB:
- Trevor Lawrence – Great match-up and price point this week against the Bucs. On the smaller slate, I do expect him to carry some ownership.
- Tua Tagovailoa – Has a consistent floor, but lacks the ceiling we are looking for. The Dolphins have a great rushing game and that eats into his ceiling. He does have the weapons though, in the passing game to make him interesting. I would increase his ranking if Hill were in.
- Baker Mayfield – Hard to trust Baker, but he does sling it and he has weapons. The Jags defense is the worst on the slate against the pass.
TX’s Door #3 QB:
- Kyler Murray – His rushing upside makes him interesting, and the Bears struggle against the pass.
TX’s Elite RBs:
- Raheem Mostert – He just finds the end zone. The Cowboys allow 69% more fantasy points to RBs when they are on the road.
- Rachaad White – He’s been on a tear and found his role in this offense. I wish he were slightly cheaper, but he’s looked great the last three weeks.
TX’s Mid Tier RBs:
- James Conner – He’s at a fair price and has a two-touchdown ceiling.
- Travis Etienne – The opportunities have been there, but he hasn’t capitalized on them. The upside is the Bucs struggle against the run at home.
- De’Von Achane – He hasn’t had double-digit carries in two weeks, but he has huge upside.
TX’s Door #3 RBs:
- Tony Pollard – Always a home run threat, but facing a Dolphins defense that plays well at home.
TX’s Elite WRs:
- Tyreek Hill – If he plays, he’s the best receiver on the slate.
- Mike Evans – Solid match-up and Baker looks for him. He scores 53% more fantasy points outdoors.
- CeeDee Lamb – The road woes worry me, but Lamb is elite and so is the price tag.
TX’s Mid Tier WRs:
- DJ Moore – Fields doesn’t look for anyone else.
- Jaylen Waddle – Always in play, but a lock if Hill is out.
- Chris Godwin – Finally took advantage of his targets last week, the game script should favor him again this week.
- Calvin Ridley – The opportunities are there, he’s just dropping them, literally. I think at this price point, he has a ton of upside.
TX’s Door #3 WRs:
- Brandin Cooks – If Ramsey is in, I expect him to follow Lamb a bit and this should open up some lanes for Cooks.
- Parker Washington – Nice value on the slate.
- Elijah Moore – Seeing more targets from Murray.
TX’s Elite TEs:
- Evan Engram – Depleted WR corps for the Jags. Engram should benefit against a Bucs defense that struggles against the TE. The Bucs’ defense ranks 30th in yards allowed and 29th in touchdowns allowed.
- Trey McBride – Seeing a ton of targets from Murray. He’s had a huge price increase, but I think it’s a favorable game script for him. At this price, he isn’t a lock, but if you can fit him in, it makes sense.
TX’s Mid Tier TEs:
- Jake Ferguson – He’s had six red zone targets in the last three games. He’s actually at a decent price point compared to the others on this small slate. I think he’s a good way to get exposure to the Cowboy offense without going Prescott or Lamb.
TX’s Door #3 TEs:
- Cade Otton – He doesn’t get a ton of targets, but he could find his way into the end zone.
Defenses:
- Bears – They have scored double-digit fantasy points three weeks in a row and are at home.
- Jaguars – Baker can be turnover-prone.
- Dolphins – We all know the story of the Cowboys at home. The Dolphins have been in the perfect lineup three out of the last four weeks.
