Healy’s MLB Daily Fantasy Intro:
Excited to bring my MLB GPP cheatsheet back to the team at 4DEEP, where we will look to build upon all of our past success. Today, I’ll be covering the main slate beginning at 7:05pm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, it will be broken down into the following three sections. A cheat sheet with three tiers of players (each pricing tier is based on DraftKings positions/pricing and includes my preferred cash plays from each position), my favorite stacks to target and which players in said stacks I prefer, and lastly, my “Today’s Edge” section, which covers my edge play/fade of the slate, top HR picks, and the players I expect to be the top performers.
Cheatsheet:
I’m here to give you the players to consider for your 9/18/23 MLB GPPs. This isn’t a list of every player I will have, but rather the top guys I am including in my stacks/core, whether it be as a matchup-based play, ownership-based play, or even a leverage play, they will all be included in this core list.
$ Tier | SP | C | 1B | 2B | 3B | SS | OF |
Top Tier | Fred Peralta | Adley Rutschman | Bryce Harper | Jose Altuve | Alex Bregman | Gunnar Henderson | Schwarber/Alvarez |
Mid Tier | Eduardo Rodriguez | JT Realmuto | Spencer Torkelson | Bryson Stott | Manny Machado(e) | Jeremy Pena | Castellanos/Carpenter |
Value Tier | JP Sears | Shea Langeliers | Gavin Sheets | Zach McKinstry | Matt Vierling | Jose Caballero | Dubon/Meadows |
Pitching Pool:
- Fred Peralta – MIL @ STL – DK: $11.3k / FD: $10.8k
- Eduardo Rodriguez – DET @ LAD – DK: $9.4k / FD: $9.8k
- Jordan Montgomery – TEX vs. BOS – DK: $8k / FD: $9.5k
- JP Sears – OAK vs. SEA – DK: $6.7k / FD: $8.6k
Stacks:
- Phillies: Continuing to fight to keep their season alive against division foe ATL, look for the Phillies to keep the pedal down ahead of their World Series run ?. Facing Kyle Wright, who in a limited sample this year, hasn’t looked great. Harper and Schwarber are the top options with Casty, Stott, and Trea being solid secondary options.
- Tigers: Make or break spot of the night. Lynn projects to check in around 45% owned tonight, which for me is wild. Sure, the matchup is good, but Lynn hasn’t been good AT ALL. Over his last four starts, he has given up 20 runs while only striking out six batters, and one matchup was against the lowly Marlins. Kerry Carpenter is the clear top option, but I’m fine using a full five-man utilizing anyone within 1-7.
- Astros: Normally wouldn’t go out of my way to attack John Means, but he is still clearly working his way back, so we have to capitalize on our opportunity. Against Means’ arsenal of heavy Change ups, the second half of the order has my attention with McCormick, Dubon, and Pena as my preferred options while mixing in one-two of the top 5.
Today’s Edge:
- Home Run Predictions:
- Kerry Carpenter
- Chas McCormick
- Highest Scoring Hitter: Bryce Harper
- Highest Scoring Pitcher: Fred Peralta
- Top Value Play: Mauricio Dubon
- Player to Fade: Lance Lynn
- Slate Edge: Kyle Schwarber
